It is the dream of most! You are outside playing in the yard - pretending it’s the fourth quarter with 10 seconds to go in the game. Your team is down by four and sixty-one yards to go for a touchdown. The quarterback hikes the ball and you begin to run your route with the seconds ticking away 10 – 9 – 8 – 7. You’re open and the quarterback throws the ball 6 – 5 – 4. You jump up for an impossible catch 3 – 2 – 1 and run it in for a touchdown! The crowd goes wild you become famous overnight….

Isn’t it amazing? This is exactly what happened in the game: Vikings vs. Saints. The Vikings are down by two with only 10 seconds left in the game and the quarterback throws the ball up and #14 Stefon Diggs of the Vikings jumps up and grabs the ball.  He takes it in untouched for a 61-yard touchdown. Simply amazing! He’s famous overnight.

Deep down inside all of us want to be Stefon Diggs. We want to catch the game winning ball with the crowd cheering, and become famous overnight. The problem is we miss an important factor which is: “It’s the small things no one sees that create the big things everyone wants”. Fact is, there have been hours and hours of training, drills, practice, meetings and the list goes on and on preparing for that moment. We only see the highlight reel of someone’s life, not realizing the secret faithfulness behind the scenes.

The same is true for our lives. Whatever your goal or dream, the “one thing” you feel God has given you for 2018; you have to be willing to remain faithful in the small things. We cannot give up just because it’s not happening or working the way we thought it would. In other words, can you continue to pray when you don’t see an answer? Can you continue to give when the resources are not flowing back into you? Can you continue to serve when no one is serving you? Can you be secretly faithful before you are publicly blessed?

At the end of the day we have to willing to do what only we can do and trust Him to do what only He can do. Will you be willing to go after the “one thing” God has given you in 2018 with everything you’ve got and trust God with the results?
